Syria also has many pet-friendly hotels, resorts etc. While relocating with pets, it is important to keep the following things in mind-
- The first step is to microchip your pet with a 15 digit ISO compliant pet microchip.
- While a rabies titer test is not required for Syria, all pets must be vaccinated for rabies between 30 days to 12 months prior to travel.
- A licensed veterinarian must complete the Health Certificate for Syria shortly prior to travel.
- An import permit is not required when entering Syria with a personal pet.
- Pets must enter Syria via Damascus International Airport. Pets can enter in the cabin, as checked baggage or air cargo.
- All pets must be free of evidence of disease communicable to humans when examined at the entry airport.
- Syria does not publish a list of banned breeds.
