- The first step is to microchip your pet with a 15 digit ISO compliant pet microchip.
- All pets must have proof of the current rabies vaccination administered after getting microchipped. After waiting for at least 30 days, a rabies titer test (FAVN ) must be administered by a licensed veterinarian.
- All samples must be processed at an EU approved laboratory. Assuming test results are within acceptable limits, your pet can enter Serbia no sooner than 90 days after the date of blood sampling.
- An import permit must be obtained in order to enter Serbia. The permit will take about 30 days to obtain.
- For non-commercial travel, a licensed veterinarian must complete the non-commercial health certificate for Serbia within 10 days of entry.
- In case of commercial transportation, a licensed veterinarian in the originating country must complete the commercial health certificate for Serbia must be completed within 48 hours of travel.
- Pets entering Serbia by air can enter at the following border crossings:
- Airport Nikola Tesla, Belgrade, Batrovci-Bezdan (river border crossing with Republic of Croatia), Mali Zvornik-Sremska Raca (border crossing with Bosnia and Herzegovina), Horgos (border crossing with the Republic of Hungary), Vatin (border crossing with Romania), Veliko Gradiste (river border crossing with Romania), Dimitrovgrad (border crossing with the Republic of Bulgaria), Presevo (border crossing with the Republic of Macedonia), Gostun (border crossing with the Republic of Montenegro).
- All pets must be free of evidence of disease communicable to humans when examined at the port of entry to Serbia.
- Serbia does not publish a list of banned breeds.
