Kosovo, officially the Republic of Kosovo, is a partially recognised state in Southeast Europe. One of the youngest and most undervalued European destination. Kosovo is a land of remote, rugged mountains, home to ferociously independent people and stunningly untouched beauty. The Rugova Valley in the west, ringed by the spectacular peaks of the Accursed Mountains, stretches all the way to the Montenegrin border.
Kosovo is also a pet-friendly place to travel to with pets. While travelling with pets, is important to keep the following things in mind-
- The first step is to microchip your pet with a 15 digit ISO compliant pet microchip.
- While a rabies titer test is not required for Kosovo, all pets must have proof of the current rabies vaccination minimum 30 days prior to entering the country
- Other vaccinations include, for dogs: Rabies, Distemper, Hepatitis, Leptospirosis, and Parovirus. For cats: Feline Vioral Rhinotracheitis, Calicivirus and Panleukopenia
- A licensed veterinarian must complete the Veterinary Certificate for Kosovo prior to travel.
- An import permit is not required when entering Kosovo with personal pet.
- All pets may enter Kosovo via Pristina International Airport.
- Pets can arrive in the cabin, as checked baggage or as air cargo.
- All pets must be free of evidence of disease communicable to humans when examined at the port of entry.
- Kosovo does not publish a list of banned breeds.
