- The first step is to microchip your pet with a 15 digit ISO compliant pet microchip.
- A rabies vaccination should be administered no less than 30 days and no more than 12 months prior to entry. All dogs must be vaccinated against distemper.
- After waiting for minimum 30 days, a rabies titer test must be administered. All samples must be processed at approved laboratories. Assuming test results within acceptable limits, your pet can enter the Guadeloupe no sooner than 3 calendar months from the date of blood sampling.
- For non-commercial regulations, the owner or a legal representative of the owner is traveling with or within 5 days of the pet and the transport does not involve purchase, sale or transfer of ownership.
- A licensed veterinarian in the originating country must complete the non-commercial EU health certificate for the Guadeloupe within 10 days of travel.
- In case of a commercial transportation, a licensed veterinarian in the originating country must complete the commercial EU health certificate for the Guadeloupe within 48 hours of travel.
- All the forms must be endorsed by the government agency responsible for the import and export of animals.
- Pets must enter Guadeloupe via Pointe-à-Pitre International Airport. Pets can arrive in the cabin, as checked baggageor as air cargo.
- All pets must be free of evidence of disease communicable to humans when examined at the port of entry to the Guadeloupe.
- Only three pets per family can be imported to Guadeloupe.
- The following breeds and their crosses are not permitted to enter Guadeloupe: American Staffordshire terrier/pit-bulls, Boerboel/mastiffs, Japanese tosa.
- The following dogs can enter Guadeloupe with restrictions under French law: pedigree American Staffordshire terriers, pedigree tosa, rottweilers, pedigree or not.
