In Bangladesh, Most households have a cat or a dog as their pets and take care of them like family members. While relocating with pets, it is important to keep the following things in mind-

- All pets must have proof of the current rabies vaccination minimum 30 days prior to entering the country.
- Two copies of the Veterinary Certificate for Bangladesh must be completed by a licensed veterinarian.
- If your pet is arriving with you as checked baggage, a No Objection Certificate must be obtained from the Department of Livestock Services and permission from the Office of the Chief Controller of Imports and Exports.
- If your pet is arriving as air cargo, then, in addition to the NOC, prior permission from Customs must be obtained and you will need a clearing agent to customs clear your pet.
- Pets must enter or depart from Bangladesh as checked baggage or air cargo at the Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka.
- Pets may be subject to 21 days of home quarantine when entering Bangladesh.
- All domestic dogs and cats must be free of evidence of disease communicable to humans when examined at the entry airport.
