- An import permit is not mandatory for entering Algeria with a personal pet.
- A licensed veterinarian must also complete the health certificate for Algeria prior to travel.
- Pets entering Algeria via air must do so via Houari Boumediene Airport in Algiers. Pets that are aggressive, must be muzzled.
- All pets must be free of evidence of disease communicable to humans when examined at the port of entry.
- Algeria does not publish a list of banned breeds.
